MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTION

REPLACEMENT WINDOWS CASEMENT, TILT AND TURN
Lubricate handles, hinges, friction stay and locking mechanism at reasonable intervals. Do not pull down on handle when closing window.

RESIDENTIAL DOORS inc COMPOSITE DOORS
Lubricate locks and hinges. Ensure that drain holes are kept clear. When doors are closed lift the handle to engage lock.

PATIO AND BI-FOLD DOORS
Locks and roller mechanism to be lubricated as reasonable intervals. Make sure that the lock catch is in the ‘open’ position when closing. Ensure that the track is cleaned our regularly and particular attention should be paid to the removal of particles of damaging grit.

SECONDARY SASH GLAZING
Make a note of the order in which you remove the panels for cleaning so that they are replaced in the same sequence. Occasionally apply clear silicone wax polish to tracks for ease of sliding.

HARDWOOD SUBFRAMES
Apply a proprietary brand of water repellent decorative stain as required – ideally once a year.

CLEANING – ALUMINIUM AND UPVC
Frame surfaces should be washed with a mild detergent. Hard abrasives and strong acid or alkaline cleaners must not be used.

LUBRICATION
We recommend the use of WD40 which is effective and economical. If you fit a fine tube to the aerosol spray it will allow easy access in penetrating such parts as the Patio Door Roller mechanism. NEVER ALLOW WD40 TO COME IN CONTACT WITH THE RUBBER OR NEO-PRENE GASKETS.
